SMARC “Pre-Field Day” Hamfest – June 1st!

SMARC’s annual Pre-Field Day hamfest is back again for 2024! This June 1st we’ll be setting up at the Salvation Army Springfield Headquarters for a fun filled day of radio. We decided to set it around this time to give people one more good hamfest before field day hits. We’ve also gotten a few more vendors on the block this year, including Associated Radio and Mike’s Embroidery, as well as expanded with more tables for the 4th year in a row after last years sell out. And no, NO tables in the cafeteria, all will be in the same room or at the entry!
From 8am to 1pm we’ll have loads of table sales, vendors, testing sessions, presentations, prizes and food! There will also be plenty of parking and restroom facilities. So come out and see us!
Here are all the basics!
Date: Saturday, June 1st, 2024
Location: 1707 W Chestnut Expy, Springfield, MO 65802
Time: Setup starts at 6:30am and doors open to the public at 8am (Those taking a test can arrive at 7:30 and will be escorted to the testing area).
Entry Ticket: $7 in advance, $10 at the door. Each entry ticket comes with 1 raffle ticket.
Table Ticket: $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Each table rental purchase comes with one entry ticket and one raffle ticket, not a ticket/entry per table rented.
Tailgater Spot: $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Each tailgater spot comes with one entry ticket and one raffle ticket.
Additional Raffle Ticket: $1 each – Available until 12:30pm for the grand prize.
Breakfast: The Salvation Army Kitchen will be preparing breakfast. Menu coming soon!
Lunch: The Salvation Army Kitchen will be preparing lunch. Menu coming soon!

Sessions and Testing
License testing session for all classes: Testing starts at 8:00am – You must preregister for your testing session online due to FCC requiring the FRN to be gotten before taking the test. Registering for a test does not gain you entry to the hamfest. You must still purchase and admission ticket to gain entry to the hamfest if you wish to stay. Raffle Prizes
Like any good hamfest, we have raffle prizes! Prizes will be drawn for every hour starting at 8:45am until 12:45 when the grand prize is drawn for. Ticket will continue to be sold up to 15 minutes prior to the grand prize drawing! You do not need to be preset to win the grand prize, but you MUST be present to win hourly door prizes. We’ll have a display showing the winners for the door prizes and any unclaimed prizes will be redrawn before the grand prize.
