First off, we want to take the time to thank you for joining SMARC, one of the oldest and most widespread amateur radio clubs in Missouri. Here are a few things to help you kick off your new membership!
The Basics:
SMARC meetings every 3rd Saturday of the month at the Springfield Salvation Army HQ located at 1707 W. Chestnut Expressway here in Springfield. The meeting starts at 5pm with the monthly program to follow at 6pm. We welcome all members as well as their friends and families! Dinner is provided but we ask all members to bring a side dish or a dessert to add to the mix, if possible.
SMARC also runs two weekly Friday night nets that are open to all individuals, members or not, that hold a technician class license or above. At 7pm we have the 10m net on 28.410 USB. Following at 8pm is our 2m net that takes place on the 146.910 (-) repeater. Both nets usually run about an hour and are filled with all kinds of great information.
If you ever need to reach us, you can use the “contact us” tab at the top and send us a message. We usually respond within a few hours.
The best place to keep up with meetings, activities and other events going on at SMARC is to simply check out our home page every so often. All upcoming events as well as club news and information will be displayed right there up front for everyone to see! Make sure and save smarc.org in your favorites!
