The Q2.5 Tech Day date is here and its going to be a good one! Come out and join us on June 6th for a fun filled day of radios and electronics.
Bring your radios, ht’s, amplifiers, tuners and other gear as we learn what goes in to making them work and better yet, why they break. We’ll crack them open and see whats going on inside. We can also test power levels, audio circuits, amplifiers and other items. Need a part replaced or a new end on a cable, we might just be able to get you fixed up!
We also will be doing radio programming for all radios that we can. We have a comprehensive list of frequencies for the Southwest Missouri area to get you loaded up with all the local repeaters. We can generally program most types of radios, but bring your own cord and software if you have it just in case!
Plan to join us for as long as you can. There is a lot to learn even if engaging in conversations or demonstrations our goal is for you to have a good time learning about this hobby.
If you are interested in amateur radio this will be a great opportunity to ask your questions. Radio programming will be available to licensed amateurs. Sorry, no scanner programming will be available.
Details are as normal, but for those that have not been to one yet, please see the following:
Lunch/Dinner: Lunch will be hot dogs and sides, dinner is TBD.
What to bring: Bring a side dish or a dessert. No need to coordinate, we can never have too much pasta salad!

Location: 3611 N Farm Road 147, Springfield, MO 65803 (right at the intersection of 147 and Radio Ln)
Parking: Please park along the street or side street. We request you leave the driveway for short timers and handicapped individuals. There is also a gravel circle drive on the east side of the road just a few feet north of the main address. If there is space, feel free to park there as well.
SMARC will be observing all local and state ordinances in regards to private and public gatherings. We will be observing social distancing during this event. Please feel free to wear face masks, though we do not have any to provide. We will have an extended event area including a canopy outside for food and the driveway available for talking outside depending on weather.
A few notes: This is a family event so kids are welcome and no alcoholic beverages will be allowed. Younger kids who attend will need to be supervised as there could be equipment present with high voltages. We take this seriously and we will take every precaution to ensure no one gets hurt at these types of events.
