The 13 Colonies HF event is still going on.  Tomorrow is the last day and its going to be Contest mode. If you haven’t had the opportunity to participate in this event you can go to www.13colonies.net for more info. Good luck getting a clean sweep.  If you would like to share your experience hunting the colonies feel free to do so during your check in tonight.

The DAV, have been very gracious in letting us use their building at a great rate for our club meetings. We at the club would like to help pay back some of their generosity! They are always looking for volunteers to help drive veterans both here in town, and out of town. Some of the duties may be taking veterans to doctor’s appointments, VA visits, running to the store, or other places.

If you would like to volunteer to be a driver please contact the DAV Commander, Jack Buckley, at: 417-862-3910. The DAV has vans that they use for transporting people, so I do not think you will be using your own vehicle.

Also throughout the year the DAV has a few raisers to raise money for vehicle repair, and replacement. I will get in touch with Comd. Buckley, and get the details of the remaining planned fundraisers this year, and bring that to you as well. Hopefully we can help the DAV raise some money this year for their van fleet!

Field Day Update:  We had 3 operators working most of the overnight, and we made approximately 117 contacts. Despite the conditions we overcame many pileups with the use of an 800 watt amplifier and FT-950 provided by Jordan Justus, N0RK, We had Mark Jackson, working QRP with his setup. We also had independent operators using their own equipment. Patrick, Jack, Robert, and Lewis as our GOTA station. Franklin make 3 contacts using the equipment provided by Bob Heil.  I want to thank the Probst’s for allowing us to use their field again this year. If you worked as W0EBE from your QTH and made contacts please send me your logs to ad0yv.ham@gmail.com so I can get those submitted for credit.

– Skywarn-

The Skywarn Youth Net. It begins at 7:30pm on Sunday nights, on the 145.490 N0NWS repeater. This net is sponsored by the Southwest Missouri Regional Skywarn repeater system to encourage young amateur radio operators & their families to key up, and get out on the air.

This helps create educational awareness amongst these operators about Skywarn, and basic weather facts. It helps introduce young hams to net operations, and how to participate in a net. There are trivia questions about weather, and a lot of fun for all! Everyone is welcome to participate.
