-SMARC Friday Night Net for February 13th, 2015-

-Regular Announcements-

-The Southwest Missouri Amateur Radio Club Meeting will be the third Saturday of the month, at 5:00pm. The net meeting will be Saturday, Feb 21st.

The meetings are held at the American Red Cross Southern Missouri Regional Offices, at the corner of West Bypass & Division, in Springfield.

Testing Will also be available at 3:00pm for anyone who wants to either get their technician license, or wanting to upgrade to a general or extra class. The fee for the test is $15.

Any one listing interested in becoming a licensed amateur radio operator should attend a meeting, or testing session. You do not need to already have your license, or be a member of the club to attend a meeting or testing session. Everyone is welcome to attend including friends & family, and children.

-Skywarn Training-

-It’s that time of year again for the annual Skywarn training from the National Weather Service. This years Greene County training is being held once again at the Assembly of God headquarters at 1445 N. Boonville Ave in Springfield. The meeting begins at 6:30pm, on Tuesday, Feb 24th.

There is no fee for the training, and you do not have to register ahead of time, just show up. This training is geared towards Skywarn spotters & net controls, but is open to the general public. You do not have to be a member of Skywarn, or work for the National Weather Service to attend.

There are other training sessions in surrounding counties, I do apologize that I do not have that information at this time. Perhaps there is someone listening that has that information, and would like to share it with us.

Attention to all who are wanting a class to get their Technician or a class for upgrade:
From the Douglas County Amateur Radio Club:
On February 28th, 2015 we will be having a all day study class for the Tech, General and Extra License”s starting at 9:00 a.m. with 2 breaks and 30 minute lunch and we will be doing the test for for all Classes of License during the day whenever you are ready to test and all testing will be completed by 4:00 p.m. Location is at the Ava Senior/Community Center in the Basement. We will supply the training material for that day and no cost for the class we are asking for a donation of $14.00.
