*The Joplin Ham Fest will be held Friday the 26th 4 – 9 PM and Saturday August 27 8 AM to 2 PM. Also, JARC will be holding a Fox Hunt Saturday September 18th…. Me thinks good practice for our upcoming event! The following is from their website:
Plan to bring your favorite DF antenna for 2 meter work, or build this DF-LOOP antenna, and come to the JARC Fox Hunt September 18th. Assemble at the parking lot next to Ryan’s Steakhouse (7th and Rangeline Rd.) in Joplin, at 11 am.
Note: If the WX is not agreeable (rain or snow), we will postpone for another weekend.

For more information on the upcoming JARC events go to http://www.joplin-arc.org/

*The regular meeting of the Southwest Missouri Amateur Radio Club will be held Saturday Aug. 21 at 5pm. For this meeting Steve will be teaching us how to solder. If you have something in need of repair, we encourage you to bring it as the soldering irons will be fired up and several experienced in their use will be available to assist you. As usual, any antenna or radio project is welcome, we will assist or advise you as needed. Testing will be held at 3pm and the Board meeting will follow.

My thanks to all who checked in and thank you for allowing me the privilege of being your guest net control for the night!
